Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Eliminate both causes of interior car odors with the Clean Air Combo! Odors in your vehicle come from two sources: things you put into the car (i.e. pizza boxes, gym clothes, pets, etc.) or mildew that forms in the vehicle?s heating and air system. This medley of odors can leave your car smelling less than fresh. The Clean Air Kit eliminates both causes of car odor so you can breathe easy inside your vehicle. The Clean Air Kit consists of two of the best air freshening products on the market: Clean Air Duct Treatment and Clean Air Genie fogging air freshener. Many air fresheners cover up odors with a strong fragrance or they eliminate odors in the air but not those that are trapped in fabrics and carpet. The Clean Air Kit eliminates odors in the air, in seats, in carpet, and in air ducts. These products are not perfume-smelling cover-ups; they are aggressive odor eliminators that leave a fresh, clean scent that is inviting, never overwhelming. The Clean Air Kit is the total solution to car interior odors. First, use Clean Air Duct Treatment to remove odors from your vehicle?s heating and air systems. Then let the Clean Air Genie release an odor-eliminating fog that fills up the passenger cabin. Let the vehicle air out for 5-10 minutes with the windows open before driving. The scent will diminish gradually, leaving only a clean, fresh smell to compliment your clean, well-kept interior. Federal regulations prohibit the shipment of aerosol products by air. This item is shipped by UPS Ground only.

2 out of 5 stars WOULD Work Well, if Only the Can Would Spray!   June 25, 2009

--Fogging Air Cleaner--

Pros: the fogger works very well indeed; it works like setting off fireworks inside your car--you literally push the button then get out of there fast while the thing "explodes" like a tear gas bomb. But it did in fact clean the car out nicely with only a slight "sterilized hospital" smell that's hardly worth mentioning.

Cons: it's only good for one use.

--Duct Treatment--

Pros: the theory behind this stuff is VERY sound--I was amazed at how much of a difference it makes to begin to clean out the ducts versus cleaning only the car interior. I didn't realize it, but my ducts were a very large part of continuing odors. More companies ought to pick up on this--imagine how much people might save in yankee candle and pine tree fresheners by eliminating duct odors instead!

Cons: the biggest con of this whole package--you simply cannot spray the duct treatment due to a very, very poorly designed pressurized can. I bought this product once, discovered the pressure in the can was lost after using about 30% of the product, and asked the company for a refund. They politely sent me another kit--good service, but once again, a duct cleaner can that just didn't work. I'm stuck now with TWO cans of duct treatment that are each about 70% full and won't dispense the product.

Bottom Line: Fogger cleaner is good stuff but one-shot only; duct cleaner is great in theory only--thanks to the defunct can, it's not worth your money.

1 out of 5 stars Don,t waste your money   December 23, 2008

This product failed to perform as advertised. The duct treatment spray nozzle leaks under the nozzle and wastes half the contents of the can. This is bad because the minuscule amount of product in the can is not near enough to do the job to begin with. The small amount of product that did get into the ducts worked for several days and then the duct odor returned. I contacted clean air about the problem multiple times and they never once responded. I contacted Amazon who had a local distributor send a replacement. The replacement can was depressurized on arrival and refused to deliver its contents at all. Amazon was contacted and they sent a credit. Don't waste your money like I did.

5 out of 5 stars An amazingly effective item for the effort   July 3, 2007

I bought this after purchasing a car that the previous owner had smoked in. I "pre-treated" the interior by using soap and water to remove most of the gunk and dirt from the headliner, interior plastics, fabric inserts, etc. I don't know if that's relevant to the review, but that may have affected the use of the Clean Air products, so I've mentioned it...

Basically, the stuff worked really well. This particular car does not have a removable cabin air filter, so I sprayed the majority of the air cleaner into the inside vent intake. Now the vents, which smelled a bit stale and generally blah, are nice and clean smelling. The really amazing stuff is the fogger, though. I left it in the car for 8 minutes (little longer than recommended -- oh well), and when I opened the door the smell was overpowering (kind of a generic flowery soap smell). I let the car air out for half an hour then sit overnight, and -- the car smells -- well, clean. Not flowery, not like stale smoke; it reminds me of the faint smell of carpet shampoo and the like that you get in a rental car. And keep in mind that this is after only one treatment, in a 13-year-old car that obviously hadn't been cleaned in a while. The stuff also seems to keep working a little bit for a day or two; it must get absorbed into the fabrics or something.

Highly recommended. I'm thinking of buying the 3-pack of the foggers; anything that can take out a smell as persistent as old cigarette smoke in under 10 minutes is worth the money to me.

One other note: my car is a small 3-door, 2+2 liftback. If you have a large SUV, RV, etc I'd imagine that you need more than one fogger to saturate the interior.
